alright guys- ive done my research and decided to try and build my own fiberglass box. what im wondering is how i should design it. If it comes out good, im going to turn around and sell it on here, which is why I want to know what you guys would like to see. Right now, Im debating between a single 12" enclosure that sits in the spare tire well, or an encolsure that takes up the entire span of the hatch with either 2 12's or 3 10's. If anyone has any other sugguestions on how to design it, let me know.

Also, would I be better off to sell the boxes with the subs and a cheaper rate? or just the box its self...? I can get my hands on some 10" R-types for fairly cheap, as well as some audiobahn flame q's.

Thanks again

some crazy stuff... so those are around 1 grand? cuz i don't have that much money. i want something for my 8 in the console and for two 12" in the back but to leave some room for my shit. i have a friend that will work with me i think.... thx for the replies guys:dsm:

yeah.. thanks for the replies.

Euro- Your setup is basicailly what Im hoping to be able to build mine into. Only difference is im gonna have the 1208's, while you have the 1206's :p

now under that fancy fiberglass is their a sealed box. or what.. cuz i want it to sound good and look it too... thx

ohh and can i still change out my subs i'm hoping to upgrade from my old JBL's to the eclipse:dsm:

if you do it right, the fiberglass will be air tight. If your worried about it not being air tight, do the same you would with a MDF box and use something to cover the seams.

Im currenty making one that will have all fiberglass but the bottom, which will be 3/4" MDF.

If you want to make one with your current subs, make sure its made to the specs of the eclipse subs. Your JL's might not sound as well, but it will save quite a bit of hassle when you upgrade them.

Hell, if mine comes out ok, Ill make you one for the eclipse's. :thumb:

In my construction ther is a completely sealed fibergassbox with MDF structure/base. I made in two pieces so I can lift it out at races ;-)

i like the idea for the MDF box and then cover it with fiberlass.... well i just changed some of my ideas and i want three 10's and the 8 in the console... so i will prob. buy three 10's truck boxes and then frame them together and make a fiberglass cover for it.. what do you think????:dsm:

u can do what ever you like. its nice to have a mdf or partical bord base to work off of. having the base allows u to anchor your speaker rings or you woofer mount nice and solid so u can strech the cover material nice and tight with out having it move. its a good way to begin. once u get the basics down u will get more creative. dont be in a rush with the fiber glass and make sure u do plenty of layers. you dont want a box that flexes, that wouldnt sound all that great.

ok so i'll go buy three boxed for a truck and then use MDF and make it one box then WHEN i get some money i'll do the fiberglass. i'm liking this idea...:dsm:
