This is a picture of the drivers side window on my GST (notice all that seperation from the weather stripping?). When I bought the car I could tell that the original window had been broken out because little pieces of glass came out from the bottom of the door whenever I shut it.

The problem is, it scratched the tint on my door, and it didn't stay in track when I tried to roll it up.

On the window diagram - the location I have circled in red wasen't connected at all, the bolt was in the guide track, just not connected (this was the bolt that scratched the tint on my window). I am not really sure why it wasen't connected. I thought that perhaps it came loose, but I looked around inside the door, and couldn't find any loose parts.

I reconnected this piece to the glass guide track using two washers on each side. It now roll's up just fine, but only with the door opened. If I try and roll the window up with the door closed, it gets out of djustment. It roll's down just fine though.

Before I reconnected the piece to the glass guide track, the window sat in the door normal with the door opened. It's just now that I re-connected the window the way it should be that it's like this. I am pretty
sure it's because the window is connected to the guide(the way it should be in the first place), and it's pulling the window away from the outside of the door.

I was just curious if anyone has changed out a window on a 2g and seen something like this. I have changed out 3 windows on 1g's, but they are quite a bit different. I don't want to have to take the car to the dealer and have them look at it. If anyone has ANY idea's please let me know.

Thanks.

pic no workie.. i will have to change driver window soon due to rusted scrathes thanx to the mechanic

I cant see the pics, but from what you describe, glass is inbeded in the weather stripping. It will need replacing. Jumping off track is not really a big deal until it falls and shatters. Just check all the points in which the guides and regulator attaches. Get a vaccum and get as much glass out as possible. I sealed the bottom of my door up so the glass would stop scratching my paint up on the old kit. just leave a small hole for draining.
