Blocking off air vent

i am putting mu safcII in my air vent but havent installed it yet due to the fact i dont know what to block the air passage way off with. could i use like old towels or would they catch fire from beiing confined and the heat on? i cant think of anything else what do you guys suggest?

I guess it depends on if you want to be able to use the air vent again in the future. I just cut a piece of abs plastic, and epoxy'ed it right in there.

I did the same thing but used duct tape to seal it in....nothing is going to catch fire...it will also blow out of the doors and window vents harder too. You'll be fine.

If you really want a nice tight seal, go look for that stuff that people used to use and some still do, but that old stuff youd blow dry around your windows in the winter to keep the heat in and cold out. That plastic stuff. I have a freind who did this to his top two vents so he could mount his SAFC. Hasnt had a problem. I guess he took the wohle vent section out and sealed it that way. I could ask him exactly how if you want me to.

i think im gonna cut out a piece of abs and then use window urethane to to go around the edges and then use the window shrink to. id rather be safe then sorry when it comes to my afc.
