Got us a CF lip for the 1GB [from 2003]

ok guys ive been talking with Rob from GTP International, he said its no problem to make us a nice CF lip for the 1GB DSMs, all we need is an eclipse in the area of the GTP facility in California. I suggested that he use the design of the JDM Mazda Protege lip found on HotTalon92's car since it is a nice piece with a factory look to it, so anyone willing to donate their car for a little while to them for test fitting will be enough to get these made for us. We also need one of those Protege lips, so he can make the design after that. I live in Northeastern PA and its too far of a ride to California for test fitting. So what we basically need is a 1GB DSM in the area of the GTP International facility and a 2002 Mazda Protege lip, that will get the project in gear and since GTP has the time and money to do this sort of work, im sure it should take no longer than a month. i dunno as of yet, im sure if the base lip we are working with (which would be the 2002 protege lip) is somewhat close in design to that of the 1GA bumper than it can definately be done, we need people in Califorina so they can model it on their cars, by the way, im pretty sure the person who gives GTP their car recieves some sort of discount, i know thats how it is with their bodykits, so i dont see why it would be any different with this

sorry if i sound like a newb.. buuuut... i dont know what 1gb and 1ga are.. im guessing

1ga= 90- early 92?/
1gb= late 92- 94??

if so we should find a donor to make a 90-92 lip.. i've been looking everywhere for one and have asked a couple shops to have it custom fabricated with no luck

edit- also if thisis the case.. can a 92-94 front bumper directly mount to a 90 - 92?

Wow its funny how things work. My friend who I got the lip from just wrote off his car today. I lost mine when I hit a deer so if you can make it happen I'm in for one #hit I miss my lip

I dunno if this helps, but I live less than an hour from gtp, and I have a 1ga. If they want to first try it on a 1ga than I am fine with going over there so they can try and fit one on. Let me know if that would work and if so than I will give him a call about it.

ok guys if 4whbst can get his car there, thats a great start...even if it is a 1GA, and not a 1GB which is what the project originally started as. all we need now is the 2002 Protege lip. hey Hottalon92, was that a factory piece of a USDM car or is it aftermarket, ive been watching ebay, but couldnt really find anything.

No that's the mazda I got the lip from. My car is fine well $1250 in damage but its fixed now. Well I'm still missing my lip

Like I had said, I didn't mind them test fitting it on my car, but I wasn't sure who is going to send a mazda lip over to gtp. When you guys are sure on what to do and you need my car than let me know and I can get in touch with the company.

ive been watching ebay but there isnt anything. ive checked that mazda site where the lip came from and it is like 260 dollars without shipping for a new one directly from them. until someone with this lip comes forward, than its only a matter of time that it takes GTP to fabricate a mold for ours until its done. maybe if we post something on a mazda forum?

Or maybe the manufacture of the mazda lip could make one for our car.
I mean all they have to do is extend the sides how hard can that be.

yes Hottalon92, its not that hard for them. well all they need to do, is make a new mold for that, which is realy realy cheep
and i think MAZDA guys wouldnt mind doing that for MIT/EAGLE

I want one aND SO DOES MY FRIEND. Also guys, I have a 1GA Talon , my friend has a BEclipse. I have one of his old front bumper covers and i looked at it along mine. From what I can tell, from the little body line along the bumper cover. From there down, they both are identical. I think it is worth a shot. The only thing about the mazda part, is that the ends are not long enough, and do not go all the way to the wheel arches
