I've looked around the site for questions related to this but I had no success.

I just bought a 96 Eclipse RS. It has a stock CD Player and I can't make any use of it whatsoever because it's asking for a code, and I tried entering a few default looking codes and after 3 failed attempts it now doesn't prompt me for a code, but simply says 'off'. I can't get in touch with the Mitsubishi service department until Monday and driving is really boring without any radio, especially since I'm a delivery driver. Does anyone know how to get this code? Is it vehicle specific? Thanks...

(If I posted this in the wrong section then sorry in advance. First post.)

you have to get the serial number off the radio itsself and either call or go ti the dealership to get the code. some places will do it for free, but some will charge. my radio had 3 codes for some reason but they are all different. if you leave your radio on for and hour, it will let you try another code to enter... hope that helps

as often as this comes up .. it would be nice if everyone that has there "cards" with the numbers on them would start a FAQ maybe year spacific ? there cant be THAT many differant codes .....can there?

Thanks for the help. I have a number to call tomorrow so I'll just do that. This seems like it's going to be a pain in the ass. Thanks again.

It's not that bad. You can usually see the radio serial number by pulling the bezel, it's just held by spring clips.

There is no master code that anyone's come up with. I don't think any exists.

Nah, I dont think there is a master code defiant. Your right on that one. I'm heading down to mitsu to pickup my pride and joy tommorrow if you would like I'll give them your serial number if you pm it to me and get the code if I can. Or just contact your mitsu dealer. Shouldn't be that hard.
