Waltham,
My car is going to be in my driveway all winter long and it sits pretty close to a pine tree (sap & needles :( ). I am strongly considering getting a car cover but I am wondering if there are any downsides. Specifically, I was wondering if water could somehow get on the car and mold could grow in between the cover and the paint. I was also wondering if any animals like mice would get underneath the cover and make nests (and scratch the paint). Any help would be awesome!

A good carcover will keep water creeping through the material to a minimum and let air flow between the car and the cover to dry up any moisture. If mold somehow grows, it would likely be confined to the cover material. But I've left my carcover on in the rain and I haven't had any problems.

Don't know about critters.

but make sure that your car is absolutley dust free and squeeky clean (best to polish and wax before hand) before you put the cover on,because if it isnst, the dust on the paints surface will get in kontakt with the carcover, then when the wind blows the car cover +dust/´dirt will act like fine sandpaper on you paint...so remember 1. Clean up,2.Cover up!:thumb:
