I was just wondering what the best roll cage is for the cheapest reasonable price. I like autopowers roll bar, but I want a bar on the side of the driver and passenger. I have seen another ad, but it looked very cheap. So does anyone have any suggestions. Or is it something that would be OK to fab by yourself. A good friend of mine has a pipe bender that will go to 2" pipe. So I don't know if that would work for thick ass pipe, but maybe. Anyway just wondering what everybody thought.:dsm:

Prostreet online has a rollbar setup that's not too bad on the pocket book (for a roll bar anyway). They make a four-point and a six point setup. They also have two versions of each setup. One is your normal standard roll bar. The other is formed to be out of the way and follow the inside contours more. The second option however is more costly and more labor intensive.

DISCLAIMER:

I'm not in any way endorsing this product. I've never seen one or known someone who has had one. I'm just reporting what I've found when searching for myself. One thing to consider when looking into one of these is if its going to be for safety you need to know that the fabricator knows what he/she is doing, and using proper materials, and welds. If its for safety it could possibly be put to the test, and I personally would want the utmost confidence in the builder, their parts, and their skills.

1) Find a racing fabrication/Chassis shop from reccomendations by *real* racers (Not some weekend warrior who has a "WICKED FAST CAMARO DOOD!")

2) Have them (the chassis/fabrication shop) build a rollcage to your specifications of what racing body you wish to follow (be it NHRA/SCCA/FIA).

3) Put some padding on the bars and get some race seats with 5 point restraints.

4) Profit.

That's the best cage for your money. Everything else is shit.

Art Morrison. That's what I got.

If you want a bolt in chrome one or whatever, off to APC you go. If not I suggest you get the Art Morrison one or get just a hoop and make the rest of the piping yourself.

Anyone have diagrams on what is needed for a 1G rollcage? My neighbor is a welder and I may be able to save a buck or two if I give him the exact design.

what about for a spyder. i saw john huhs rollcage on prostreetonline and i must say looks like real good work. shipping is going to be a killer though :(

from the e-mail john sent me, they offer them in chromoly or mild steel. 4 pt, 6 pt, with or w/o swivels

Prostreet doesn't give free shipping on that? Any idea on how much shipping if for a roll cage?
