Front Windshield Venting Problem???

Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem. My front windshiled de-froster/AC that vents only by way of the upper windshield is not venting. I can blast to max level and only barely feel anything. All other venting methods (floor, center dash) all work fine just not my front windshield vent. I replaced my fan in the winter of 2002 due to loud smacking noise it caused everytime i turned on the heater. Could I have installed it incorrectly, but if so why would only the front windshield not work??? Anyone know how to fix this problem? Also will I have to remove the whole center console and if so HOW??? Should I leave this for the dealer to fix?? My car is only driven in the spring/summer because i now have a winter beater- '90 Honda civic sedan. My car is a '97 GS-T, manual IF that helps.

Ugh, could be the flap is stuck that diverts the air flow. Only way to really get at it is to take the dash out of the car which is a PITA.

Probably your control cable has slipped. Get a Haynes and have at it.
