ok, the only thing i have took off and put on a car is a door and a fender.so i dont have alot of skill.
me and a few of my buddies think we auta give it a shot, its a bomex kit and the fitment should be great, though the holes are not pre-drilled. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

installing a kit is not hard as long as you take your time. im not familure with the bomex kit, but i believe it is fiberglass. a fiberglass kit is harder to install than urothane. the only thing you have to take your time with is drilling the holes. dont rush it. drill pilot holes first, then gradually make the holes bigger to fit. you also may have to install some extra brackets to reinforce the new kit.

Are you sure it's a *REAL* bomex kit? All Bomex kits come pre-drilled.

well its a fiberglass replica , but from what i hear the fitment is great.

Fitment is great on the *real* bomex parts, not knock-offs.

"Replicas" suck.

I've yet to see ANY kit fit as good as stock right out of the box. They all need some work here and there. The nice thing about fiberglass is that you can actually get them alot closer to perfect than urethane being urethane kits can't really be modified. It's not to hard to install a body kit...but to do it good is a different story. If it's your first time, I can almost guarantee you it will not come out perfect on your first try. You're always going to have minor imperfections that only you may notice...but it will drive you up the wall. If you have alot of cash to throw around..I would say don't waste your time and just get it done professionally. Otherwise, try it yourself...you can only learn from your mistakes.

Agreed, I have a replica Bomex kit that I am installing on my car right now. It was a total nightmare trying to get the rear bumper to fit properily. I had to make many relief cuts to bend the bumper and bolt it up. Then fiberglassing all the cuts that I made and fill with bondo. I am painting the entire car anyways so I went seamless. Suprisingly the easiest was the skirts.

You can buy a replica if you want to save money and do all the work yourself, but if you want a shop to do it, then buy the real thing to save on labor from the body shop.
