Cleaning up then blacking out the headlights

Ok the time has come to address the head lights. Mine are getting foggy on the bottom half and I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how to clean them up so they look new. I searched and came up empty handed. I have heard of using a fine grit sand paper then polishing but I dont know the specifics. After thats all done I will be blacking out my 95 lights and selling my 97 lights. If someone could please help me out that would be great. Thanks in advance.

I will be doing this when the front bumper is off for my Turbo/SMIC install...

Do you paint over the chrome housing or do you have to peel it out?

Just paint over it. Make sure that it is very clean first, or the paint will bubble and seperate. That happened to mine. Also, they make some paint out there that needs no prep work. The surface just has to be clean. My buddy used that on his truck. Looks real good . Hope this helped.

I know ChryslerKid used so flat black cheap paint but I think I glossy black would look nicer maybe.

Pick up a can of plastickote dupicolor at walmart...

Its like $5 in the automotive section.

It's called Krylon Fusion. It comes in 16 colors and you can pick it up at Wal-Mart. My buddy said that he found it in the part of Wal-Mart that sells paint not in automotive. $4 or less per can.
