Hey how easy is it to replace the door and rear speakers in a 98 eclipse gs? for the doors it looks like you just take off the screws and the wholepanel comes off. Is it that easy or are there any special tips or tricks that you guys can give me? also are the stock speaker sizes 6.5 in the door and 6x9 in the rear?
thanks
Rob

Same on the rear, take out the rear seat cushion (comes right out, and you'll go "wha..." when you see it), couple of trim screws and some snap-in clips.
Be careful with after market speakers in the rear, you have very little space behind them.

when you take out the screws from the door panel you might be hesitant to just try to pull the door off. beleive me, its not stuck, just yank that bad boy off. dont forget about the screw inside the little handle on the door and behind the 'open the door' lever.

I'm just wondering what some other people have done when upgrading the rear speakers. What brand and model did you go with. I had tried to use eclipse point source 6x9's, but they were way too deep.

I put Kenwood 6 1/2s in both the front and rear.I didnt like the sound so I put some ol JVC 6x9's in the rear that my girl had left over from her old car and it still sounds like shit.I cant get the sound I want.Seems like theres no bass at all.Im not looking for huge bass you find from a sub, just some decent bass, with a crisp non distorted sound.Think I need a small amp powering all four speakers or something:confused:

I don't think an amp will make the results you're looking for, since I have the same problem as you even with my 60x4 amp. What is it with our cars that makes the rears sound so bad?

Yup It pisses me off when I hear factory stereos in newer cars that have the sound I want but no matter what I try It still sounds shitty.I cant understand:confused:
