Hey guys, I just had my car repainted as some may know. It's been 3 and 1/2 weeks now. The guy who painted it is a friend and says it's probably safe to wash it now. My question is, if anyone has been in the same situation before, how long did you wait? Should I be afraid of scratching the fresh paint? Give me some tips.

Here's the link to my car.....

Thanks ahead for any help,

I worked for a custom paint shop(in business for close to 30 years) for 7 years and just about every car painted got washed within 24 hours(with no problems or complaints).House Of Color clearcoat is hard as a rock too ,we use softer DuPont clear with no problems. So as long as you use common sense(A clean wash pad and non abrasive soap) and rinse off sand or dust first , you will have no problems. The not washing and polishing/"waxing" new paint jobs thing is outdated and stupid. As long as you use proper washing and polishing/"waxing" materials and the paint job was done right, it can be washed and polished/"waxed" almost immediately.

OMG i didnt think there was another tuner within 500 miles of me. where in romney are you from? i live just outside fort ashby email me or pm me or somthin. i saw a 1g in the background of one of you pics maybe we could talk parts. i know some ppl from up that way. its a small world after all

i washed n waxed my front bumper a week after it was painted. i just took my time and did not apply too much pressure while waxing. the guy that painted it said it was fine to wash n wax.
