How to make projector style headlights brighter

I have projector style headlights on my '96 talon. With winter coming, and back on standard time, its getting to be dark longer and these damned projectors suck. Is there anyway to make them brighter, such as a new bulb (if they use standard bulbs) or do i have to get an HID kit?

The projectors I had used standard H3 bulbs, so you could try a higher wattage.

i just angled my hi-beams down.. and run with those on when i need to see.

So the projector style headlights use regular lightbulbs for the low beams, and i can just change them to a higher wattage bulb?

so those will just swap right out with the bulbs i have in my projectors now???

I've got a question.. i've got a 96 esi right now.. what bulb size do i look for when i'm going for HIDs? H3's?

Depends on which headlights you have. For stock headlights you'll want a 9006 HID kit, for the aftermarket projector headlights you'll need an H3 kit(unless they're the dual projectors, which use 9006/9005 bulbs like stock).
