HID Questions

Hey everybody...noob here. I'm looking to boost up the brightness of my headlights and was wondering if HIDs are worth the money. I heard there are some legal issues with HIDs right now and that's why CATZ took their kits off the market.

Anyone know of any other manufacturers that make quality conversion kits? Or even better, does anyone know of any sites where I could purchase a kit for a relatively cheap price? Or should I even bother with a switch?

your best bet would be to scope the junkyards for an hid equipped car(lexus, benz, bmw, etc.) and then just read up and modify it to go on your car

Is it cheaper to have another car's hid modified or is that your advice because of the legal issues with hid?

it's much cheaper and i'm pretty sure it'll also comply with the laws because of it being a stock system

It won't be legal unless it's on the car it's DOT/SAE certified for.

It'll most likely be a total bi*** to set up.

It won't be cheap.

I'd not bother trying. Better to go with higher-wattage Phillips, OSRAM, Bosch or Sylvania halogens. Most of the bulbs that come in Power Ranger packages are crap, as well.
