I have 2 10" subs that are each 400w peak(kinda shitty). Im not sure the RMS but what size amp would I get to power them. I dont know much about this kind of thing

pioneer's.... dual voice and i think the rms is around 200

I wouldn't go with anything smaller than a 400w rms amplifier, and no more than 800w rms. With the right enclosure you can make Pioneer subs sound pretty decent. What kind of budget do you have for an amp?

im tryin to not spend a load of money on the amp but nothin to junky. am i correct that i would get a 2 channel amp? im planning on building my own enclosure(that i do have experience with) and was gonna go with a sealed one unless there are other suggestions

Sealed would probably work best for those subs. Instead of a 2 channel amp, you might want to look into a mono class D amp. Also known as a sub amp. Their usually stable down to about 1 or 2ohms mono which will allow for more wiring configurations and allow for you to get the most power to your subs. I would personally go with an amp anywhere from 100x2 rms to 250x2 rms. Anything more and you will seriously risk blwoing your subs. Those subs are not made to handle much power, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

If you're on a tight budget I would highly recommend a JBL 300.1. It's a mono class D amp that will give each of your subs over 150w RMS. I would consider JBL one of the best amps without spending 2 or even 3x as much. You should be able to find this amp brand new for around $150. If you can't afford that, than just wait and save up because anything less probably wouldn't even be worth your time. Goodluck.

Please, dear god, do not get that amp. Pyramid is complete junk. The JBL suggestion was good, they make solid amps and are still cost efficient. JBL has a really good "bang for the buck" rating.
