What is the deal with all you people and your unpainted hood's? Didn't have enough money left over to get it painted?Showing off the carbon fiber?

   WTS i think it looks awesome, why would u paint CF, then don't uhave to sand it and do a bunch of other useless stuff, CF is a tight look dude. On the other hand if u had like a lightning look it would look a lil how would u say it, not good.

Well I don't expect everyone to like my lightning, I would actually prefer a solid paint scheme. But a painted body and a unpainted hood is nothing but retarded. It just looks unfinished.

Tell me how to get the paint to stick and not fall off and I'll paint it.

1-Sand
2-Prime
3-Paint
It should be just regular paintable fiberglass resin ,nothing special.

teh fvck? carbon fiber is awesome lookin' and paint flakes off even when done professionally.

if you drive by me on the road and don't know that it's carbon fiber and just think it's unfinished.... then i don't care what you think. For the people that know, they'll think it's nice.

holy freaking crap. i just looked at lightnings gallery and that is a disgrace to the dsm community. normally i say as long as its what you like then thats cool and stick with that. but seeing that picture made me wanna shoot myself. and i cant blieve you dont like carbon fiber. a cf hood is the shit. im gonna get one as soon as i get some other expenses out of the way. maybe you dont like carbon fiber cuz it would look like shit on your car:dsm:

that looks sooooo sexy but get some hood pins... NOW!!!! before your shit blows back into your windsheild

1- I agree CF looks cool, but black hoods on colored cars does not.
2-If the paint flakes off, the "professional" that painted it, didn't know what they were doing.
3-I worked for a custom paint biz for 7 years. The car was painted for advertising purposes, and it worked , it brought me lots of business and lots of $$$.

Just look at shuwa's car. Can you say that it's ugly? And that lightning belongs on a honda...

i like the lightning but not on a gsx.... but that's just me I feel that performance cars should be that performance maybe with a few little things here and there but mainly performance oriented. Your car looks like a a straight show car should. but that's just my opinion and we are all entitled to one

I love that CF hood... that and predator hoods are so awesome....

The lightning scheme... i guess whatever you like.

I love the CF look especially on black. IMO it looks best to paint like, the trim around the hood to match up body lines and such. If I was on my computer I'd post an example

I usually paint a different scheme on it every year or so.I get all the materials for free and it only take a day or so.Right now I can't think of any so I'm thinking of painting it a solid color.
