My carbon fiber hood has started to develop a yellow tint. Has anyone else had this happen to them? The hood is VIS btw.

damn....
my advice (to those who have c/f hoods) or even if you don't...park your car in the garage.
if you're like me and live in dorms or just don't have a garage BUY A GOOD CAR COVER....that'll solve your problem from the get go.....might be a bi*** to do it, but now you'll probably have to buy a new hood.....rather the cover than that.

It's illegal in California to use car covers. I'm going to start applying wax to protect it.

sand it and reclear it. Just don't sand down thru the gel coat completely or the clear will continually sink into the carbon fiber when the clear dries....you'll see a pattern NO MATTER how much sand and clear. So be careful and just scuff it evenly all over and then shot it with clear.
You can also get a candy or pearl and shot that first then clear over it so your hood has a tint of color to it. Will mask any natural discoloring.

..some might tell me I am wrong for saying this but I have never seen a VIS hood last very long. The quality sucks all the way down to the underside.. Rolled edges don't mean jack if the hoods don't stay together. The gloss looks great on them and the hatch is nice and all but they must use inferior resins if they yellow like that and fall apart like the last 3 I have seen.

Just clear it! And if you want a kick ass finish put a little of the car color in the clear in it will give a little tint to the hood. Look great! :)

You haven't been waxing it? Being very picky about my car's finish, common sense would suggest to me that you outta take theboogieman's advice and then wax the hell out of it as you should be doing to your car.

Ok how do you get clear coat to stick? I tried clear coating a test piece and I can scratch it off with my finger! All the body shops I went to warned me it won't stay on.
