painting

i just got done fiberglassing and bondoing the plastic peice on my steering column so it has a hole for my turbo timer. I am gonna paint it gloss black but i was curious as to the painting process. LIke primer, sand, base paint clear coat. Mainly just when to sand it and what grit and stuff like that. So if anyone could give me sum advice i would appreciate it. Thanks Eric

hmmm, If it's not smooth, then sand it with very fine sandpaper, then prime it with decent spray paint. Pick out a color, paint it. maybe with 3 coats, then if you want to you can get some clear coat spray paint, and go with maybe 7 light coats or so.... hardest thing here is to find the right spray paints. stupid auto stores usally have shyt.
