6x9's That ACTUALLY FIT in Rear of 2g

The 6x9 speakers I have are Sony's.....to make em fit I just tore off the stock blackish mount that the old speakers were sitting on.... kinda tuff but I hacked away at it... and then the 6x9's fit very well.....the model number is XS-V6933....

Check SoundDomain.com and type in your make/model/year, and find the spaekers u want..... they will tell you if it will fit or not.

Yeah I didn't have no trouble at all with my sony xplod 6x9's...

Oh I forgot I got a old 1G...
nevermind... :)

No but, don't the Alpine's fit pretty well...? I helped a friend install this ones, and I we didn't do no kind of trimming

Lets try to post respectable speakers guys ;)

A decent option over the 6x9 is putting the same size speaker from the front in the back. Crutchfield sells universal adapters so you can turn a 6x9 hole into a smaller size. Sounds much better, especially with some bangin subs in the back.

my 3 way eclipse 6x9s fit. lil snug tho

i have mb quart 6x9's thoes with my mb quart q series up front sound awsome with 400 watts from a phoenix gold.. loud and crystal clean

get mb quarts man there some of the best you can buy... you can hear me forver BOOM BOOm but when i turn into my road i rattle my neighbors windows and u can hear every word clear as day.. like haveing a concert in your car

dimond audio is good stuff too now AudioBahn im sorry i wouldn't put it in my car but i can get u a hell of a deal at our local flea market

i have boston acoustics fx9s.. u have to open the hole up tho but its not a mighty hard job, just get a router bit on a drill or dremel and hollow it out, the piece is plastic, w/ a router its like cutting into hot butter

BAH, don't waste your time with 6x9's. Get a nice set of 6.5"s, put a decent amount of power on them, and they will walk all over just about any 6x9 out there.

JL Audio makes some really nice components, I'm running their 3-way XR series components, and they are awesome. (These are in my old car, haven't had time yet to do any system work).

I bought the 6x9 housing for the higher line 2g and put in some JBL's. It's been a couple years and I don't remember what model or anything but all I had to do was drill new holes and put in the screws. No mods to the body and no hacking of the housing.

Why not just ditch the rear speakers and spend more on subs and fronts? I did. Don't miss the rear speakers at all.

The rear speakers make a real difference. Spend some hard earned money on some Focals. I promise you will not be let down. (They are European, so measurements are conviently in metric.) I have Focals all the way around in my car and anybody that has heard me has been amazed. I sound like a salesman now so I'll stop. But they will fit in the 2G guarenteed.

For me it was weight vs sound. While it's not even remotely fast, the subs would definitely add more than I needed. I don't have an after-market system and don't care to give up trunk space.

Even with a completely dynamat'd car I would never invest a ton of money into speakers. A small upgrade, sure, but the road noise elminates any SQ difference that would be gained from a set of Qs or Diamonds.

I have a set of 6x9 three ways by 'Eclipse.'
They went in without a hitch. I'll edit this post with the model number as soon as I find the box or my Talon gets back from the shop. (Which ever comes first.)

If I'm not mistaken, there was a manufacturing change somewhere in the '95 or '96 production years. (Simmilar to the difference in engine productions, although i think it came later.) Anyway, there are some 2Gs thatcame with 6x9s and some with 5 1/4s? Something like that. My memory is failing me.

Anyone want to back me up?

Peace,
Dave

LOL, yea im gonna throw my AudioBahn's away... the stock ones have less bass, but sound way better and dont crack all the time.. it's sad..

yeah pioneer are made to fit perfectly as stock speakers. recoment them. though mb quarst are the best in clearity.
