See if you can follow me. I am installing a cd player in my Talon that has the Inf. system. If I take out the amp the speakers won't work. So is it possible to splice the speaker inputs and outputs together at the amps wiring harness to complete the circuit and bypass the amp. I have looked at the amp wiring harness and I have located all of the inputs from the radio into the amp and I see, what I think is the wires going out of the amp to the speakes,(all in the same plug). So, if I just splice these wires together the signal will go to the speakers, right? Who else has done this?

You don't need to do all that if you have RCA outputs from your new head unit. Read THIS thread.

My mistake, I was exactly clear. I have a Alpine amp I'm hooking up and I want to use the stock speaker wires instead of running new ones. So will I have to cut and splice the stock amp input like i described or is there another way? Sorry if I missed something, it's time for me to go to bed:D

The only way I would know for that to work is to do what you said and splice the stock amp wires. There are wiring diagrams out there somewhere that show you what color wire goes to what.

The only other thing I can think of it to take the stock amp apart and see if you could use the connector that is on it...solder wires to the connections spots on the other side of the connecter that you cannot see until you take the amp apart. That way you wouldn't have to cut and splice wires and you could easily disconnect at any time.

run new ones. it may be an inconvience to do the work, but you will eliminate any potential ground problems. If you are installing an amp, you have enough work cut out for you, run the speaker wire now, so when you replace your door speakers it is already in place. I would personally not use the factory wires under any circumstance, unless it is a non amplified factory setup. Your call.

Good luck.

Running new wires is a great idea but actually doing it is another matter.

Does anyone here have the wiring diagram? I desperately need it.
