Thats crazy... I wish I could give up my whole hatch like that... Instead I'm trying to take up as little amount of space as possible with my 2 solobaric L7 12s... looks awesome...

got the subs off ebay, only cost me 200, ill upgrade to a good company eventually, maybe some jl's or kicker

Set me a back about 1500 for the equipment and install, not all that bad, ive seen systems with way more money invested that dont look as good as this, and everybody says sony sucks, but these subs beat harder than nething

newb question- but about how much did just the fiberglass materials cost?

Didnt hook it up myself, it was about 600 tho i kno for the guy to make the box, if u dont kno how to work with fiberglass but u want somethin nice, ur best bet would probably be to take it to a proffesional, but its up to u, took about a week and a couple days to make the enclosure, plus another 2 days and 75 dollars to paint and clearcoat it.

i had sony xplod subs. they are acually ok. but still with that nice of an enclosure i'd get something better, cause seriously just seeing those sony subs in there will make people laugh, but mad props on the looks of it all.

looks really good.. very clean setup.. i dont really know much bout the sony brand subs.. but they look all good together alone with ur enclosure/box cause they're red :p

keep up the good work

I am in the middle of my subwoofer enclosure and am doing it myself. This weekend I am doing the fiberglass portion which is now finished. Now to the Sanding

Here is a webpage that I made on how I got this far... Cost of parts for the enclosure are:

Scrap wood I had around the house: Free
1/2" MDF For the :dsm: symbol: $9
3x1Litre cans of fiberglass Resin: $45
2 yards of 100% Polyester Felt: $25
Then just some misc screws and staples and lots of elbow grease.

I should have some pictures this week of the unit painted. :thumb:

Hurry up with it already!!:D I am curious to see how your encolsure turns out. Have you though about taking some of the wood out as you build up the fiberglass?

Nice, but I think 4 12's is overkill. 2 12's are good enough for me :). Looks really nice.

That looks really nice! I never had xPlod subs, but I've heard them, and they beat REAL hard. And the guy only had 1 12''! That must sound awesome with 4!

A morning of sanding has gone by... holy crap is that a lot of sanding. I have got the majority of it sanded, but still have more to do:cry:

I'm most likely going to keep the majority of the wood in there until I see how much vibration the subs will give it.

I have one thing to say.....SWEET..... I would have gone with 12's too... I like them, tight but still plenty of thump.. :D

not puting a system in my car though... not unless it will weigh under 50lb any way...otherwise 6x8's only...

OMG That looks bad ass! I like how you kept the red theme going. I personally don't have any experience with sony subs but with that motha' of an amp I'd imagine that any subs would sound awesome. I really like the amp install too. Nice, clean, simple, and done very well. Major props on the entire thing!:thumb:
