Why would Crutchfield not suggest this...

Ok is it not a DIN headunit? Then why the hell is that site telling me it's mot recomended for my application. Help.

there is no reason it wont fit.. the only thing I can think of is becuase maybe if u have the infinity sound system its saying there are extra parts needed.. but it doesnt make sense becuase it specifically says

This item does not fit your vehicle

This will fit your car. I just installed one in my friends 98 eclipse and there were no problems. The wiring might be a little different if you have the Infinity sound system, but they make adapters to remedy this.

the reason being I think that the infinity sound system has a seperate amp, out side of the desk. that woudl mean you woudl have to rewire your speakers, not to dificult to the new deck. and any thing will fit with a little bit of fiber glass and some bondo and a lot of sanding

They possibly are saying this because you will have to have external amplifiers for it to work (i dont mean the factory amp either... ) it doesnt have a built in amplifier so youll have to fork over the cash for the extra amps and wiring as well. hope this helps with your decision

It will work you just have to find the adapter for the stock amp. I have a top of the line Clarion head unit from a couple of years ago that doesn't have an internal amp either.

It took me about 3 months to find someone who had the part but they make an adapter that goes from RCA cables to the 5 prong thingy that the factory amp uses. Just go around to all of your local stereo shops and ask for the adapter......I mean local as in not a chain store. I asked all the chain stores but the people that work there usually don't know **** and don't care to find anything out.

If you can't find it anywhere contact Creative Car Tunes....that's where I got mine and they even had it in stock. Their web site is www.creativecar-tunes.com You may have to call them because they aren't too quick at responding to questions on their message board.

i foound the site awhile back. look for metra.com. or search for metra wiring harnesses. metra is the brand most stereo shops use. their site covers most everything you'll need to know. and if not they provide a # for human help.
