Ok well my stock hood is a little beat up, just regular stone chips and stuff and among the other body work I want done getting my hood repainted was going to be on the list. Well the guy quoted me $285 to paint the hood because they have to paint the underside of it too or some such bull and I figured for about $50-75 more I could have a carbon fiber hood. But, my question is, would that hood look strange on my car because of the paint color? It think it could either look good, or just plain $hI##y. What do you guys think?

Hey, what do you know? You're selling one of the most beautiful DSMs I've ever seen.... :p yeah, thanks for the feedback. I already have rims and i plan on doing suspension after the winter or during the winter depending on if i get a beater in time or not. But you think it would look ok on that purpleish maroon color?

carbon fiber hood never looked aweful on any car :)
i would go for it , but what style u going for OEM or invader ? and why dont u just do the eclipse conversion ?.

If I did any sort of conversion it would be to '97-98 talon front and eclipse rear with talon through the center section of the tail lights but I don't see what that has to do with the CF hood? Anyway, thanks for the responce!

I think CF hoods look better on darker paint jobs, similar to yours. I like the color of your car, so I say go for it. If it's gonna be that much to paint it, why not go CF?

(Similar to the logic I used to convince my wife I needed a header to replace my rusty downpipe) ;)

how could you pass up a 91 lumina? id roll in that

I was really feeling that lumina, strong V6, couple of cigarette holes in the interior, rusted out trunk... yeah that would have been my next choice. I tell you, if that would have been 5 speed, I would have picked that up in a heart beat, but uhh... something about the AWD, TURBO, and DSM pulled me towards the other car in the pic.

Yeah, I think I may just go for the carbon fiber. Any suggestions as to which hoods fit the best?

Thanks alot! I like the color too! Most of my ricer friends think its a "###/####" color. I love it. Ha and last week I was pulling up to a car show and this guy standing next to a camaro yelled "hey look at the guy in the purple eclipse" I stopped the car and yelled back "Its a Talon, DICK!" I'm glad he didn't find me later on cause he would have pounded me into the dirt, but it was fun none the less!
