:dsm: Hey I Had A Double DIN stereo in my 97 gsx but when i converted to an aftermarket system i have the lower din open now and i was wondering if nebody has had ne experience custom making something for that, because i was wanting maybe a custom made thing for a greddy turbo timer and 3 toggle switches, could nebody make something fiberglass for that for me and then let me pay you to make it and send it to me, ne help would be appreciated, a price would help:dsm:

i had the same problem with my friends 97 gst and what i did was fiberglass a flat piece and just glued it above the cd player so it looked stock...i recommend just buyin some fiberglass and trying it yourself...its really not that hard and who knows what youll start makin after that

You can buy fiberglass and do it that way if your brave enough to try it. Either that or you can go and buy that little "CUBBY HOLE" that fits right there under the radio and get some "metal strips" and just custom fab a braket for that area that way you have that cubbyhole to work in and that will give you enough room for a tt and a couple toggles.

Dunno if this helps but if you get a cubby hole you would know what im talkin bout dude. OMG

You could do what the above said, and try glassing it yourself. I'll make some suggestions: Use matting and not the paste style stuff(cathair). The matting allows you to lay it out first. Also, use 4 or 5 individual layers. Dont layer it all at once. It's not really that hard to work with fiberglass. It is however, very messy. Otherwise, I see you are in North Carolina. If you are near Fayetteville, check out Discount Auto Sound, or Rudy's Car Audio. they both did awesome work to some friends vehicles when I was there(I grew up there). I do all my own, so I never had them working on my car.

or you could just get a little peice of plexiglass.....paint it any colour you want and its easy to drill wholes in for gauges and switches......

ya, no reason to use fiberglass for somthing 'flat' . If you useing fiberglass, ya midas' well mold it - tilt the gauges twards the driver-- or somthing. other wise, ya plexi - steel -aluim..hell thin enough wood..any of those would work fine

in germany the cars came with din radios, the hole under the dash was filled with a small cubby hole and a clock....

either that:

that isnt a pic from mine on the inside, just a pic i found, notice the clock beside the cubby hole?

Ow. That clock is kinda trick. Is it a Chrysler/Mitsubishi part, or something from the German audio market?

And how does that "headlight adjuster" work on the European cars, do you know?

thats a Mitsubishi part...ill try to find out the price and part number and post it here tonite or tommorow

All cars sold in Europe must have an Adjustment via Electric Motor and they must have a switch to be able to adjust the Height of the Light beams from the inside of the car...cars with HID lights must have at least two load leveling sensors so that the lights can be adjusted Automaticaly depending on when the car is Accelerating/braking (ie when the nose goes up or down) and when the car is loaded(back goes down) or when driving over bumps or going uphill or when going downhill --the purpose of all this is to prevent oncoming traffic get blinded by lights that r too high and to help the Driver see better(prevent that lights are too low going up a hill for example)

there r three alternatives: the one with the cubby hole with a cover..
: the one with the Clock and a cubby hole
: the one with slots for cds (about 4 or 6 CDs)

a great place to put ur cell phone...

Sounds about right, the Europeans have always seemed to have had more sense about automotive lighting than we ever developed over here. I've run Carellos since putting a fog and a pencil on my '70 Beetle. My Datsun Roadster has Carello headlight replacements, as well as fog & pencil. Many times I've wished I had an adjustment from the cockpit, but it seems my countrymen would use them to "punish" other drivers instead of to see better with. C'est la guerre.
