Paint Chips

I had a blitz bumper put on my car about a year ago. When I got it painted it looked so incredibly dope, however as time went on I started accumulating lots of paint chips. I know that my blitz bumper sits lower than the stock bumper, but when I get it repainted again, is there anything I can do to "harden" the paint to prevent so many chips?

The big chips with grey primer underneath look terrible next to my black paint job.

You'd actually want to "soften" the paint so that it'd be less-liable to chip. See what your paint shop guys have to say, if there's anything out there, they'll have heard of it.

and to let you know...3m has come out with a product a bit ago that is a clear film you apply over yout entire front ed up like 2 inches onto your hood that hes prevent paint chips....saw it in super street i think

i think i've seen this on someone's car. they had a clear rubbery coat over the front of their car and up their hood... but it definitely didn't look good. it was about an eigth inch thick and was bumpy, you could definitely see it. it made the front part of the car much lighter than the rest of the paint.

no its like a laminate kinda like a clear tint..not at all like what your describing...you can barely tell its there.....my friend has it on his escalade(sp?)

When I got my sideskirts painted, the bodyshop guy told me that he used urethane paint. He said it prevented chipping and had a little flex to it. You can try that kind of paint if you want. I know that my sideskirts, have not been chipped by a rock yet, even the part next to my front wheel well. There have only been indentation there from rocks that my wheels have kicked up, but no missing paint. Just a thought.
