I think I have a good idea, but I'm not sure how to go about doin it. I'd like top make the top gone done by pushing the button and letting it go. I think maybe a momentary on switch might work. Has anybody ever heard of/ seen/ or done this before?

Id like to second this, Id like to know also if there is some easy way to change the switch on it so instead of pressing and holding the button while the top goes down too just pressing it once? if anybody has done this or attempted to please post.
what do we need, just some basic tips.

Hey man, I guess we'll have to be the one-touch pioneers! I'll post if I find anything

when i come across an @$$load of cash, and re-do the factory alarm, i want to figure out a way to auto-start the car and have the top drop with it, as long as i remember to leave the top unlatched... that'd be bad ass...

then again, it would cost to much to go *click, car starts, top drops* people go "oooo ahhh" and i go "yeah, cost me $1500" ... blank stare ensues, crying begins

since we are on the subject of tops goign down......is there a way to make it so that when you are rolling more than like 4 MPH that you can still put the top down....like when im reversing out of my driveway and am putting the top down...it stops if i go to fast...any ideas?

it is like that for a reason. try putting the top down while doing 35mph. you will no longer have a convertible, you will have a roadster. the support for the top is cheap sh*t. the pieces bend and fold like play-doh

yeah i didn't know...i wasn't planning on doing it at that speed...just like when im backing up...but hey good to wish!!

For real...I've got two brackets on my driver's side that have bent completley in half...pieces of shit. Anyone know what kind of money I can expect to pay to repair/replace them???

If they come off, you might be able to get one at a junkyard, but Spyders arent the easiest thing to find at a junkyard. It's worth a shot, compared to spending at least 3 times as much from Satan.

I took mine to a top shop, they told me they could try to bend it back into place but if it broke they could sent it to a shop and get it weld back together, when i get some more cash together im taking it to them and asking them to weld it to reinforce it even if it doesnt break, I think he said the weld was going to be around 30 to 50 bucks plus there labor. Take it to a shop and Ask it shouldnt be too much.

ok fellas, thanks for the comments, but we're getting too far off the subject. somebody said you can you a window kit, but didn't say how to wire it up. I want to try it but I can't afford to replace anything if it breaks. is there anybody here that know the electrical system on the convertable?
