Ok here’s the problem. I kind of like the Z3 fenders. I’m thinking about getting a pair for my 98 GSX. However, I wanted to get some opinions on them from you guys. I’m trying to keep the car as clean as possible, no body kits, neons, or wing. I’m having trouble deciding if these Z3 style fenders are clean looking or a ricer mod.

I really like the way they look, but I’m trying to stay away from the stereotype. What do you guys think?

Nice, or Rice?

Nice if your a show car looking type.

Rice if your not.

But rice isnt determined by a dam set of fenders on a car. I swear everyone is so quick to call even the smallest NON-PERFORMANCE mod rice..... :sigh: :|

i dont really like em.. they are totally played these days. back wen they first came out and people started puttin them on different cars.. it was cool cause it was new.. different.. original.. but these days.. ackk.. everyone is doing it.. keep the stock fenders.. just my .02

Z3 fenders don't even belong on BMW Z3's.

I'm getting them in the future. So I don't think their stupid. However you really don't want to take advice from me on exterior stuff...

Heh, I got them, I like mine though, they add a nice look to the car. I dont care if they are "rice" I think they look cool.

P.S- look in my gallery for pics..

i have z3 fenders on my car, and for a while i was worried about the look of them being "rice" or not, but they really dont look that bad, they add an agressive look to the car, its more of a personal oppion if you want them or not.

I think 3/4 of the people on this forum will tell you that it's rice / overused / just plain ugly, but its your preferance.

Personally I think they look nice, if done right, and they do make the car look more aggressive.

I was thinking about the word rice today. At first it started to be what it actually is suppose to define. Now I figure that the word rice is just another word for something people themselves don't like. I mean people were known as ricers because they had all these stickers, skyskraper sized wings and muffler tips the size of a coffee can. Now if a person doesn't like it , its automatically rice. In my mind, if you like go for it. I mean, if people don't like it fine. But your the one thats gonna shell out the money for your car. Its all about personal preference. I do like it when people say its looks good, but thats as far as it goes. My car is made to satisfy me. If you still wanna know if you should get them, I think so. Their not that bad. Adds a little flavor to that already sweet as ride.

Hey he does have a good point. If anything the word rice is whats played out....

Thanks for the opinions guys!

I've decided to put the money into a Greddy BOV, and more gauges first. Maybe I'll get the fender's later on, but I think my car needs more "go" before I add more "show".

I'm learning toward not getting them at all. However, the fenders would be the only body modification for the rest of my baby's life, so I guess I wouldn't be a ricer for putting 1 little ricer mod on an otherwise fast and clean car.

I'll definitely give it some more thought!

Thanks guys! :thumb:

You know when i read that i started thinking to myself.
You know what? HES RIGHT!!!

That couldnt have been said better by anyone else.
Thank you for clarifying the "rice" to us. Cause god knows everyone has there own defination.

IMO, the term "rice" is one of the most mis-used words out there today.

how can you call someone who puts a bodykit, or fenders, or clear tail lights on their car 'rice'?

if the person cares ONLY about looks, and not about speed, then he/she imo, is NOT rice.

rice imo is people who try to make others think their car is fast. either by putting stickers on their car labeling shit they don't really have, or by re-badging the car to make it look like a higher end model(stock integra with a type R badge, for example)

i guess you could also consider people who put 5 inch exhaust tips on their car, with no other mods rice too, since the exhaust isn't really doing anything other than making people think their could possibly be more mods...when there isnt heh.

i plan on putting a blitz kit on my eclipse when i finally get it, but im only doing it because i think the lower end model eclipses look like crap, and i love the blitz look. not to mention, i havent seen a single eclipse around here with one. majority of the imports around here are riced out hondas and acuras.
