A couple questions. First off, can anyone tell me where I can find blue bulbs for your doors, the lights that come on under the dash when you open your doors. The same for the ciggerette lighter, where I can find a blue light for it. Then my second question, can anyone tell me where I can get really dark blue indeglo gage lights. I see the light blue ones all the time, but I want dark ones, ones that will match my HVAC ( I did the blue LED light conversion ) It is nice and dark, and I want my gage that way. Thanks alot guys

you should be able to get the bulbs at any auto parts store...autozone has a new "import section" and thats where they have them. just find the right bulb and they have blue, red, clear, and ricer i mean hyper white.

the ones that come on with the doors are norma side marker lights.. thge cig lighter wont lite up a diff color because the acual 'ring' is orange. Reverse indiglo is prob as close as you will get to 'blue' gauges. compared to the sort of turquoise color

Just curious. Has anyone ever tried using glass paint to paint over the stock halogen bulbs? I know that behind the gauge cluster, some of the bulbs emit a orange color because they have orange gel caps over them. Also, perhaps there is a place that can make blue gel caps.

thats what iam going to do, use the glass paint. i havent done it yet but when i do ill tell yall what it looks like.

The cigarette lighter can actually be changed. You’ll just need a bright enough LED to shine through the orange ring. I’ve done it and so have others, it actually looks quite nice. The same thing applies to the ignition ring. I’ve actually found size 73, 74 LED wedge bulb replacements that will just swap the original filament bulb right out (They’re rare, but they’re out there). They fit the cig lighter, ignition ring, the ash tray light, and even the HVAC light. I actually believe they are the same size as all the lights in the gauge cluster. The same applies for the size 194 lights you are talking about under the dash. They are actually quite common and can be found on EBay. Just search for 194 LED. As for the darker blue gauges, most of the reverse gauges sold have a dimmer that will allow the gauges to dim pretty much down to nothing. As far as using the paint or bulb condoms, I wouldn’t recommend it. The colors cannot come close to matching the trueness of a good LED. What I would do is get LED’s with the same or close to the same MCD (brightness) as the ones you used for your HVAC. This will assure the brightness is even throughout the car. Hope this helps. I’m still in the middle of getting my lighting completed. I’ve been working on it for weeks. Every time I finish one thing, I get another idea. I’m getting a bit anal, but it’s looking good. Again, hope this helps.

I NEED HELPPP

Hi, I am trying very hard to find the 1 bulb behind my HVAC controls to change it but no matter how hard i try i cannot find it. Can someone please tell me exactly where it is located. I have no AC, so i took the button out and i cant feel any wires underneath it, where someone else told me it was..

THANKX IN ADVANCE....

Take out your AC button, and it is directlly underneath it. You will see a little clip and the blub is right in behind it. you will see it, it is small. You can change it wint a blue LED light. I have done it if you need more help PM me or email me [email protected]
Hope this helps Later.

THANK YOU,

i will check it in my eclipse tomorrow and if i fail ill email you, haha = )

Hey Rob, i did find the bulb, after some hard searching, i think, since i can only feel it, but i cannot get the thing out. I took out everything out of my car since i was repainting the inside but i still cant get the bulb out, its at a really awkard angle to pull and i cant get the temp cluster out either. I ended up breaking the corner of the cluster trying to force it out =/

The wire for the bulb seems to be caught on somthing so i cant pull it from that either? Unless theres a easlier way im going to quit.

You shouldnt have to take out anything other than your AC vents about the HVAC, then push a little tab ontop of the AC button. Then the AC button will come out, after that you should be able to stick your finger right underneath where it was and there should be a little nob sticking out. Turn it 90 degrees to the left, and then pull on it, it should pop right out. Then you need to get a 2600 mcd led bulb, and you will need to solder a resester on to it. I will give you more detailed directions tomorrow, and i will post some pictures of it for you, it wont take me nothing to pop it off and show you with pictures how to do it all and to see where everything is located. I am sorry I havent been more of a help to you, I will pop it off tomorrow though and give you a step by step walk through while I am at work.
