i need to splice the power and ground wire on the passenger side door. Which 2 wires are they. Im thinking the power is the green/red wire, and the ground is the green/black, but i need to know for sure. Also near the glovebox, i need to splice the wires there. Are the same 2 wires (green/red, green/black) the power and ground wires??? Thanks alot for the help.:dsm: ALso, is it possable to overload a certain power line?? For instance, if i kept on splicing the wire from the cigarette lighter, would it short out all the time? or can i keep splicing without worrying about it?

i would think splicing the same line on the cigarette lighter wouldnt overload the line but definatly will make the fuse pop.

thats what i mean by overlaoding the line is making the fuse blow... can anyone anwser my questions??? please...

i wired an inverter into my cigarrette lighter an am in the proceess of getting a push button start to replace it. Just drop a large fuse and your good....ive done it...so i knwo it works

when ou say i need to put in a large fuse, do you mean, in the fuse box under the steering wheel, i need to put in a larger capacity fuse (30a) in the cigarette lighter slot, or do i have to wire up a new fuse somehow (im guessing putting one in line with the power wire??? How do i know what size fust to use. Right now i have a radar detector hooked up to the cigarette lighter power and ground wires, and i still need to hookup a power inverter and monitor. Are you Positive thisis compleyely safe??? What are the other alternatives if not?

you would replace the one under the dash in the panel if you were to do that... or you could just run a new power wire fromt he amp... it isnt that hard and no hassle but you should run a fuse based on how much current you will be runnin.

If i were to do what!!!!? Im trying not to get very frusterated but im not getting vary many responses and the ones i do get arent anwsering my questions. Ill try and make it as simple as possable......I need to know the anwsers to these question

1. What is the best way to hook up a power inverter, and a monitor???
(the power inverter will be in or near the glovebox, and the monitor in the door)

2. What color are the power wires in the car, are they all the same color?? I need to know the same thing with the ground wire?

3. Is it possable to keep splicing the power and ground wires from the cigarette lighter? If it is, what do i need to do to make all the things connected to it safe??? If i do hook everything up to the cigarette lighter, can i make it so each added device had its own seperate fuse? If each thing does have a seperate fuse, do i need to still chance the size of the cigarette lighter fuse?

Please anwsers these questions. I would apreciate it greatly

why dont u just run it to the battery...thats basically what a power wire is right?

im not sure...i got a TV in my car...but i didnt install it LOL
