Hooking up a shift light

Did anyone ever hook up a shift light on their FWD Turbo eclipse? I recently purchased a proform shift light and I don't know where to hook up the green wire it says that to hook it up to the coil negative but i don't know where that is. I'm wondering if I can hook it up to the rpm signal or no? Some please help.

Im pretty sure you have to get a rpm modular thingy ...uhh sorry no tech name but you gotta get it from automter

i tapped mine in to a blue wire going from the ecu that took like 34232 years to find. it worked.

I hooked my up to the rpm signal on the ecu. I have a autometer.
