The exterior restoration of Project Laser started today due to boredom.
I didn't plan on taking pics of this but then decided to after, which is why there are no before shots. But I sanded down the driverside/lower end of the hood where the paint was peeling due to rust and re-painted it with white Krylon. This is just a temporary fix before it gets a real paint job, I just wanted to remove the rust and protect the hood from further rust. The first pic shows the biggest "chips" on the hood and near the headlights. The rest just show how the hood looks now. I wetsanded, primered, painted, wet sanded again and waxed it to try and blend it properly. I think it came out pretty nice. i was impressed with myself as this is only the 2nd time I'd ever done this. I also removed some dents in the rear 1/4 panel using the plunger method. It worked for the most part, but still needs a little massaging. No pic of that though.
Anyway, here are pics of the spraypainted hood.
Anyone have any tips on painting the rest of the car? Over the weekend I'm going to sand it down and spray paint it all with krylon to take care of the other area that need some attention. Thanks!
