Car lighter no contact...

Fuse is OK. But my car vacum cleaner doesnt work and my car lighter doesnt work anymore..i saw some sparks from there the other day when i inserted my lighter. Can anyone please tell me what might have happened and how do you remove thst car lighter system to see the contacts..im just thinking something might have burned..

you can try to take off the center console to get to the contacts, i dont know how to take off the entire lighter unit but if you take of the console you can get to the contacts

This is how it is done on a 1g...

If you take out the ashtray and remove the screw under it, and then remove the trim under the radio and remove those three screws you can pick up the top of the console that goes around the shifter. Lift it up and you will see the cigarette lighter coming through. If you want to take it all completely off, all you need to do is twist off a threaded screw-like bottom to the lighter. You should be able to do it by hand. Just reach under it and unscrew the faster - it is like a giant nut - and everything will come off. Then just unplug and fix, replace, etc. Installation is the opposite of removal.

If you pull the panel off by your leg and reach up under the dash where you can feel the back of the cigg lighter it just unscrews but the wires aren't very long so be carful not to pull too hard i dunno if you might pull some other wires out that don't belong to the lighter.....my cigg lighter doesn't reside in that location anymore someone put one of those ghey push button starters in where the cigg lighter used to be and just left the cigg lighter just laying under the panel. Can't put it back to original because they cut the panel to make it bigger so the push button start would fit. I guess i'm too lazy to figure it out but which fuse is for the cigg lighter anyone wanna give me the easy way out and tell me which one it is?
