i just installed my cd last night and i drove it around for a bit but not at full volume and bass. today when i play it at full volume and bass it skips, even on cd with no scratches. now i know that the cd player has virtually no skip protection. is it the bass thats causing it to cd skip? or could it be that a wire is not makin full contact somewhere and it just seems like the cd is skippin.

well first of all, theres not a head unit out there designed to play at full volume. If you have to turn it all the way up to hear it at a decent level, then you need new components, better amp and subs.....the electronics are working over-time when you have it full blast, and I'm not surprised that it skips at full volume. Take it down a little bit, theyre not designed to play at full volume.....

i think i worded that wrong. i ment full volume to be at 60. from 0-45 is very very soft. i know some volumes are different about what the numbers mean. some have just 30 as loud and some other like mine you have to turn up even more. mine is a aiwa also and i dont think its that good a deck anyway cause my parents bought it for me for xmas. its decent but they didnt really know what to look for.
