Swannanoa,
does this "car audio talk" forum suck or is it just me??? i mean, it seems there is VERY little if any interest in this topic....guess most of the dsm guys aren't too into systems:(

I agree with larry, more people are into moddin' there cars rather than doing car audio. I myself is into car audio, but when your car is turbo there is other things on your mind other than bass.

With all the money some of these people spend on stereos, they could have gotten turbos.

unless ofcourse they'd rather have a bada$$ system. atleast building a tight stereo system is more dependable than modding your engine.....especially when it's in a dsm....

Everyone has there own agenda. My 1G N/A goes crazy fast...and I won't lie, I'd like it to go faster...but there'll always be someone faster than me...so I figger, I like tunes...I like my car...so I like tunes in my car. So I took some dosh I had left over and I bought some crazy loud tunes for my crazy fast car. There may be a speed limit, but there aint no sound limit. So while I'm toolin on down the road feeling on 90Mph I won't be able to hear the cop car following me...and I sure can't see him, cuz my rearview mirror fell of because the monster BaSs pouring out a da hatch. And everyone knows that If you don't see it or hear it it don't exist right?

Another thing I consider, my car is a door ding, bald tire commuter. I drive it to work every day. If It was my second car, I'd pamper it, but it will be a cold day in hell before my '69 H/O sees a cold day in Dallas. So I'd rather spend money on the cars tunes and upkeep rather than overworking the engine. If you wanna drag race me, gimme a few minutes to go get my Olds. You wanna hunt a V8, my 455 will give you a run for your money, lord knows it's got enough of mine in it.

What would you like to talk about......I'm into systems and have been building mine for a little while now. I check this forum pretty often but I don't have any questions or any new pictures so unless someone else asks something I usually don't post here. I have posted answers about integrating the factory amp a couple of times here and at DsmTalk.

Anyway I guess I am saying if you want to talk about stereos throw something out there like a question or what not and I'll respond if I have the answer or an opinion.

no particular question or problem.....just that the forum seems "dead" compared to the others here on DSMtuners. i thought it'd be nice if some more people were interested in the topic. that's all.

Yeah I know what you mean and if I wasn't so lazy I would have more pics of my system as it progresses. I had been taking a bunch but the film got messed up and didn't develop correctly so I couldn't post them.

I am almost finished so I will post new pics of the finished system when it is done.

To the guy that said there is no sound limit, where I live there is, and it's a $75 ticket, just like speeding.

Wow...I'd hate to live where you do...a ticket for my tunes. Man I'd be broke. I usually visit my dad on Saturdays for lunch, and I'll sit in the parking lot at the police station for 15-20 minutes waiting for him to get mark out, and I'll sit there just rocking the lot. Never had anyone tell me to turn it down, but I have a few come over and ask to see the system. Most of them get a real kick out of the satellite radio, mostly they want to hear the comedy channels.

actually i'm pretty sure there's noise regulations in about every state...prolly just haven't heard about it, maybe you should look into it?

Uh huh...What's sponsorship? You mean where corporate goobers come in, inventory your equipment, making sure you have a specific amount of equipment no more than one line old, and that it's all installed to their standards? Yeah...that sucks. I thought I'd carry McIntosh back in the day...I had spend nearly 10K in amps for my 300z. But I was not using, nor would I agree to use the line driver they wanted me to run. Pleeze! I was using a nice Alpine head with 5V preamps, and they wanted me to put a 4V line driver at the head. Well, seeing that my 1/3 octave Phoenix EQ's clearly state the ideal input range for the Pro Gold EQ is 5-12V And they output between 5-10V, I decided that a McIntosh decal on my windshield was not worth the hassle.

I'll never bow down to corporate sponsors. It's too damn expensive. Buy this, buy that, run this don't run that...take your jackets and decals and shove them.
