replacing/rewiring A/T shift knob help

Ok, so my problem's been skirted around a bit, but I haven't found a straight-to-the-point answer. I've got a '98 GST, but really don't like the way the automatic shift knob looks. So I was looking around, and saw this nifty aluminum base, with the ring, boot, shifter, the whole 9-yards, but the problem is it's for manuals. It's the VenomTech shifter kit, you can see what I mean here:

Is there any way I can keep the ring/base/boot and just get an automatic shifter elsewhere and make it fit? How can I rewire the OD button and where would I? Anyone have an idea?

i dont think it will work , but i know what you mean about the A/T looks , i hate it , i have one also , but hey at LEAST WE DONT HAVE TO GO BACK TO 1ST gear everytime we stop........

we can eat , talk on a cell phone , fix hair , and drive all at the same time! YAH!

i think it would be possible, but it would probably require some custom fiberglass work on the center console and shift rod, and you probably couldnt use lower gears individually (1,2...) you could probably only use P R N D

you might have to ask the company what size the ring is, and see if it's gonna match with the shifter movement when you shift.

trial by error is all i can tell you...but i think you should try it, just to see if you can, it would look badass if you could finish it.

i was thinking bout changin my knob too..razo got a really nice one with a OD button..100 bucks tho..so ill do all the big things to my interior first..and save the little goodies for last..such as the shift knob.. they sell it on the cardomain page..check it out
