What does everyone think of XM Raio? Does anyone have it in their DSM? My friend's dad has it in his '03 Sunfire. So is it worth paying for the $300.00 extra equipment + an xm ready cd player?

it is for everyone at Audio DImensions...its awesome..i went on a road trip in a car with it and i never got bored

Pay radio? ulgh. Cable TV and internet are enough for now.
Otherwise, it'd be pretty cool.... but I don't know if they're going to make it in the business.

They've already made it. It's completley blown up since it came out. I think it's pretty awesome. Instead of a couple radio stations that you get so-so reception...you get like 100 that are crystal clear. You technically don't even have to caryy cd's anymore unless you're looking for a specific song.

I say go for it, but $300??? I know there's places where it's cheaper now...especially if you've already got a xm ready receiver. Should be more around $150 for the tuner and antenna. Check out eBay.

See, total cost at the end is equal to more CDs than one would purchase in the same amount of time. That includes the cost of the "XM-ready" deck. I alleviated myself from that by getting one of the new JVC mp3 decks which means I spend my "XM money" on a spindle of discs and have the option of skipping crappy songs ;) I say invest in an mp3 playing deck as the technology will be around for a good 5+ years more when it comes time to change your deck again :D

i heard they are very nice, but stuff keeps coming out that is better and better for it. so i'm with ^^, i just buy 100cd spindle at the comp show for $20 and burn away. in about a year or 2 when it gets a little cheaper and stuff isn't being upgraded so often i will get it.

I have it in my Expedition and will be installing it in my Eclipse. It's awesome. I drive for hours and don't have to worry about changing the channel and it's great when you are traveling in areas with sucky radio stations or none at all. $9.99 a month is cheaper than the price of a 1 cd every month.

What about the antenna. I mean does will it look ok on an Eclipse. That is my only real worry. I don't want some funky antenna on my car.

You know, when Cable first came out there weren't a ton of commercials, either....look at it now!

Screw paying for radio, that's why I have CDs and stuff....having to buy a special receiver plus pay 10 bux per month to listen to music? Naw.

If I could take it anywhere for that 10 bux per month, MAYBE, but right now there are no XM walkmans, and I'll bet even if there were, you'd have to pay extra for it.

No thanks.

I _think_ they can be installed inside, such as on the inside of the hatch glass. If I knew where I'd read that, I'd look it up.

i was thinking of geting it but if you spend a few extra bucks get one of them kegs like kenwood makes like a 20gig hard drive holds like 20,000 songs dont need XM then =0)
later
