#74 led for gauge

I was looking on 2gnt and some guy said the #74 leds wont shine thru good because there is a orange flim behind the gauge..is that tru..has anyone put the 74's in?
 
that is true, you have to sand the orange film off. I decided to buy the reverse indiglos myself.
 
shine thru what ? only thing i can think of that has orange on it - is the cig lighter ring. gauge needles got red. the rest would show the color of the bulb
