I took my car to the dealer to ask about some rust spots on the hatch of my car. They looked up the vin number and told me there was nothing they could do because of a warranty restriction. It had the restriction for excessive powertrain modification, which I don't really care about anyway. They then told me because of that it voided my entire warranty. I asked him to explain and he couldn't, just giving me the customer relations number in California. I fall under the corrosion part of the warranty as far as the miles and year go, by the way. After almost 2 hours of arguing with these people, I requested to speak to the district service manager. I have yet to hear from him and have went to another dealership to maybe get a chance to speak with him, but have appeared to hit another stall tactic. I've checked 4 other 2g DSM's locally that have less than 100000 miles and they all have signs of this rust. I want to know what action I should take next, short of getting a lawyer (I can't offord that).
Sorry this is so long, but I need this fixed ASAP. Thanks.

well yea, most dealerships can terminate a warrantee like that for modifying ur car. they're not gonna be responsible for ur broken pieces from modifications. i know it stinks cause u can't get the rust fixed for free, but that's something u just have to forfeit if u modify ur car and they know about it. as for getting a lawyer and sueing them, that's a waste of ur time and money, cause u will not win.

That is a truism:talon:

Um, no.
The dealer CAN NOT void your request for rust/corrosion fix because of engine mods, wtf does that have to do with rust?
My tranny crapped out on me and while I don't have turbo, I had an intake, strut bar, gauge pod w/gauges (planned on turboing soon), etc. and there were visibly obvious signs of modding. The dealer replaced it with a brand new one no questions asked.
