My center tail light on my 1GA is cracked pretty good. Trying to avoid paying for a new one that I will have to sand down and paint black like I want to do this one.
The problem unfortunately though is that it is cracked, and I don't really know how to go about fixing it.

My initial plan has been to pull the panel off (just got done, what a PAIN in the ass).

So now I'm looking at how to fix it. A friend tells me that JB weld would work well, and I'm pretty sure that it would but I want more input. JB weld is really great for engine block cracks and radiator end tanks and stuff, but plastic?? I don't really know about that.
It's a small crack I will admit, but it really degrades how you would feel about the 'quality' of this car.

I will post a picture up and see what you guys think, I want to just fill ever so lightly over the crack, and fill in the entire chrysler logo so that the center panel is just gloss black from top to bottom with no badges.
Feel free to hit me up with idea's other than JB weld if you think you have something better that will hold up to being sanded and painted+cleared.

Thanks man, I'll look for that instead. You're lucky with your 1GB not having that stupid panel in the middle. I gotta say with it removed my car looks pretty gangster ROFL.

I'll post pictures up of what I do with it, I gotta get on the ball anyway as I'm starting a new job and won't have time to piddle around anymore.

I don't know if JB weld would hold up the way plastic weld does but I have a feeling it's going to come out terrible. When they say working time is 5 minutes they mean it!! I laid so much on the chrysler emblem and was trying to smoothe it over with a razor blade and it's impossible. It spreads around in gobs, so if this works I'm going to have a hell of a lot of sanding to do.

Well heres what we have so far. I appreciate your suggestion for that plastic weld stuff but holy crap! It is the hardest substance I have ever worked with bar none.
It set up in 30 minutes and it's so hard that even 150 grit sand paper does next to nothing to it!! I've been sanding on it by hand for over 2 hours to knock it down as far as I have. I started by filling in the pentastar first and the pics are mostly of that. I don't even know what the heck to do about the cracks I was fixing because there is so much weld on top of them. It was impossible to spread the stuff, the 5 minute working time is more like 1:50.

What do you think about the badge fill in so far? That's like 2 hours worth of sanding by hand and I'm not exaggerating at all.

Well I am now starting this project back from square one. I had everything filled in real well, and after 7 hours of sanding it was ready for paint. I hit it with many light coats over the course of a few hours, and the panel cracks in a new spot right in front of me. 7 hours of sanding for absolutely NOTHING. I didn't press on it, I wasn't even touching it at all! I had laid a new coat on it and I heard this sound that sounded like when you're walking on ice. I look at it and it's cracking.
Off to the J/Y to get a new one, I'm gonna buy a few this time.

if you dont mind a mitsu one ill send you a good one for just the shipping

go to the local junk yard and get one or take 3kgt2nv has not worth fixing cause it will just fix it just for awhile.

Yes I will definitely take the mitsu one, thanks for the offer. The Mitsubishi one just has a sticker that goes across it that says Mitsubishi right? It's not engraved into it or anything (I hope) ?
