Purpose of offset wheels

what is the purpose of offset wheels??? Does it have a performance advantage or is it just for looks???

Could be if you have a BBK need a larger offset to clear...

If you upgrade brake set ups, like brembos, you need a bigger offset to clear them..
i have +35 offset and i can't even clear a brembo.

Most guys use the offsets to flush the wheels/tires to the fender. The tucked look only works on hoopties with hydrolics . Seriously though like mentioned above, if you have a BBK then you would need a larger offset to bring the wheels further out to clear the rotors and calipers. Otherwise, just for looks
