So today i went and picked up a 2gb talon front bumper from a guy a couple towns over. He said that where the eagle emblem was had been shaved, and that it would need to be redone.
after getting home with the bumper and getting all of the bondo out i found this

So my plans are to restore the bumper to its talony goodness, so my reason for posting is, how can i get this emblem off without damaging it?

Quite honestly you cannot or should not take it off. You would never be able to get it back on correctly if that emblem is anything like the emblems on the rear bumper.

Just sand it or scuff it with a Scotch-Brite pad.

Use a heat gun or a hair dryer to heat it up some and it will come right off. Ive used this method on these emblems and on the rear bumper badges and they come right off every time.

That is if he doesn't plan on reusing it.

You can get a new emblem from Rebadge Design, that's what I did.

You will need to get all the Bondo out of there too, a 5" sanding disk takes care of it pretty quickly.

I got mine off in one piece. a little patience and a plastic scraper and a heat gun is all you need. But if you do manage to screw it up, JNZ has them new for $50

I took a few of the broken emblems off of my '95s rear bumper before we painted it at my dad's body shop. I am familiar with how to remove them.

I got it off in one piece with a lot of patience. It will be going on as soon as i can source a set of 2ga headlights.
