Quick question. Where to find a guide for installing decks?

I've used the search function on this forum, doesn't come up with anything

Also I've searched Google, but only come up with eHow answers...

Does anyone know where I can get a step by step guide to installing my stereo?

I already have one in there, so shouldn't be too hard (I obviously didn't put THAT one in..)

Thank you for any help! If I can't do it myself there's a place right by me that does it for $40...

It's pretty simple, just pull out the plastic trim that surrounds it (just yanks out) and access the screws on either side of the head unit. That will allow you to pull it out some, then you disconnect the wires from behind. If the one currently installed is stock then you have to get a harness adapter (like 10 bucks online). If an aftermarket unit is already installed then all you really have to do is match up the wires by color from the head unit to the car's harness (you would have to pull off the wires from the other head unit of course). It gets easier the more times you do it. I wish I can post some visuals to show you, I know that always helps. I probably missed some things but that's the gist of it.

Damn yeah I could probably do all that, but I don't have a garage or any dry place (live near Portland and it rains all the time here...) For $40 that's not a bad deal. Plus anything goes wrong there's a warranty...

Thanks for your help!

Its dry in the car. You take out all the wiring harness' and you take them in your home and solder. The adaptor harness and the deck harness should all be labeled just connect the power to power, ground to ground, etc then go back to the car plug them in, put a few screws back on and there ya go. You just saved $40 minus solder and heatshrink costs.

I bought the installation kit and harness from my local audio shop and it took maybe 15 min to install.

You can solder, crimp, or twist & tape if you're lazy.
