I've installed a few HU's before, but now I'm really puzzled. There was an aftermarket cd player in my car to begin with, and I recently bought a sub, amp, new speakers, and new HU. I wired everything up, set up the amp and sub in the back, and plugged them up to the HU that came with the car. Things seemed to work well, so I went ahead and took out the old head unit, and cut all the wires and connected them to the harness for the new head unit. When I plugged it in, I got no power. I then decided to try and narrow down possible problems, and hooked the old head unit back up. No power on that either. I checked the fuse, it was fine. I figured that it must be a problem with the battery wire because it would at least power on if all was ok. I tested the connection on the end of the harness that hooks up to the head unit, and it was receiving full power. So I have a good fuse, a good connection, and 2 head units that won't power up. I'm pretty much puzzled, and I am hoping someone out there can help me out.

Sounds to me like you're checking the wrong fuse or there's another fuse you've missed. That's really the only possiblity if you're sure the ground, constant, and switched power wires are all wired up correctly.

The only thing is I'm positive I'm not checking the wrong fuse. I've looked at the diagram time and time again, and even checked the fuse with a tester, etc. There must be something small I'm missing or something.......

Do you know that there isn't a ground wire in the stock harness? You have to run the ground wire from the radio harness to the metal bracket surounding the radio. On the right side there is a screw that's used for the ECU ground that you can add the radio ground to.
