Dirver side window rattle fix needed

Hi all.

I had this asked several years ago, and got nowhere with repairs on it. Revisited site today, found this:

2g window adjustment

And it sill does not help.

We have 95 2 door Eclipse GS.
Driver side glass flops in the door back and for, making loud rattle when door is shut. I need to sell the car, and it's one of the most obvious problems with it. You can grab top of the glass and move it side to side about an inch almost.

Last time I was advised to remove panel and work on some adjustment brackets that control the glass. I did, but they apparently work only one way - towards the outside, so we secured the glass, but ended with a large gap between the door seal and glass, on the top, with door shut, so I had to bring it back to sloppy state, but no rain getting in. The door does not have full window frame, it seals against the body. Just like you would have in a convertible.

I shall most appreciate practical advice on how to prevent that glass from rattling. So far, it looks like it needs to be pulled TOWARDS the inside.

I had the same problem but the white parts were totally missing, and judging from the pic its about an inch.

I had those adjusted before; had felt pads adjusted too, no success.

I'll try this:

It is due to the fact that the felt pads inside the door that allow the window to rest firmly have been worn down. It is a common occurance and isn't anything to worry about, it just sounds ghetto. Unfortunately SATAN doesn't sell the pads by themselves, so to fix it right would cost over 100 dollars, but you can go and try to pick up some form of padding from a hardware store, and take apart the door panel and replace the old worn pads with a form of new padding, that should work, I would have done it to mine by now but I'm leavin within a day so it wasn't worth it just yet.

I just fixed my window yesterday, it was rattling as well, all what I did was to close the brackets (Pic posted by foxracing4500) where the plastic goes, so the plastic gets a little tight to the rail that guides it up and down, on my part, the plastic opening was wide which makes the window to move side to side and makes the rattle noise, If the plastic gets more tight, It will not have to much movement to make the window rattle.
Make sure it is not to tight, other wise it will be harder for the window to slide up and down.
I just hammer the part and it did the trick.

Yes, I already had those brackets squeezed few years ago.
