Cheap Rims poll

Here are some cheap rims I found on CL, I ghetto photoshopped them onto my car, and in most cases, gave a little "stance"/lowering.

I know there are better alternatives like rfp1s, (super sexy, my fav...) and evo 8-9-10... and the CS2's (i think thats them, by BBS or something) anyway I found most of these to be from 150-350 for all, (some with some without tires).

What you think?

In order:
-2000 Cobra type R 18"( i think they are hot if you delete the stupid snake/R)
Only problem is they are 9" wide i think... I hope thats not too wide, Im a sucker for thin 5 spokes for the cheap. these would be #1 for the cheap.
-Deep dishes (these are kinda cool)
-Evo 8 black, I had to preview them, none for sale locally =(
-Random "Verde 5ives" really cheep but they are 5x115, so no go.
-Genesis by hyundai, kinda fresh, my friend wants to sell me his for the very cheap. they are #2 based on price/ availability to me
-evo 8s in silver. just had to see em too.

I gave no option for evo 8s because if I find em locally.. I want them. same with the 1000+ rims, I guess Ill have to rob a bank or something lol.

A new set popped up for super cheap. i think they are gonna be hot sh!t with some paint. only prob is they are 18s and I pretty much convinced myself not to do 18 anymore... but I dont wanna pass em up. heres some pics: first is original and the rest are painted options, I even found a 2g rocking them.

Not really a rainbow fan... but the potential is dope, 18x7.5 +45 offset... sounds like a perfect fit. should add some "stance" without popping out.

Pretty cool illusion of a lip.

keep in mind every one wants 600+ for their over valued evo rims. I love em too, but for 600 with crap tires, yeah right. also no one is selling near me right now. the ones im going for are in the sub 300 range. with semi good tires.

Id rather spend light money on rims and more on go fast parts.

I also use the wheel size calculator. 18s would give me about 1.5 inches more diameter than factory. Would that affect my performance by much? (the rims are actually the same weight as my factory laser meshies) if performance is affected does that mean better fuel economy? eh?

I voted Cobra wheels. IIRC, Dan Cokic ran them on his 1G wayy back in the day, and it looked excellent.

EDIT: Just found an old pic of his car on my external HD. Pure SEX in my opinion.

Look at XXR 527's. They come in 17x8.25 +35 and they are around $111 per wheel. Pretty cheap imo and the fit would be nice on a 1g

konig. idk which kind. they are pretty fresh. and painting them makes them on a whole new level of dopeness.

Ok ignore the poll lol, Im deciding between the konigs, and some knockoff rpf1 18 and 17 inch respectively.

Im gonna have to try them both becuase I have this bad feeling that 18s are going to look terrible on a 1g...

Yeah they look great, the only problem is some of them have low offset, and some sets will be staggered.

Any downside to running staggered? I am awd... I assume it doesnt matter, as long as they fit, and as long as they are the same total diameter (outside). I think cobras are my fav factory rim, I would choose corvette, but they are the wrong bolt pattern i think.

Why would you need to run staggered sizes? You can simply just order 4 fronts or rears and have all the same size.

I too am looking at some cobra rims to put some drag radials on. They look good but stick out pretty far on 1g's.

Hmm... I never considered that there are a few different types of "cobra" wheels out there. It seems that some fit better than others. I'll check out the ones in my Ford Motorsport catalog tomorrow.

Im going for the cheap here lol. most used sets are staggered from the factory. Id prefer if they all were the same obviously.

The konigs sold... i had them lined up for $200 with tires, I just didnt get there in time...

No clearance issues on my 1.5 drop other than I had to roll the rear fender lips which only took about an hour of my time well worth it.

I think im gonna go this route... gonna shoot for under 200 w/ used tires on em. they look pretty much just as good as real rfp1s. and they are 17s so my car wont look all retarded with oversized 18s on it.
