Has anyone adapted the OEM 10 disc changer in a 2g eclipse to an aftermarket headunit?

'sup Shadow!

I don't think you can since each aftermarket companies have their own auxiliary plug. Each of these plugs have their own shape too. If you take an CD changer input on a Pioneer deck for example, it uses the IP-BUS plug which is square-shaped. If you uses a Kenwood plug, it's round shaped, but the pins inside won't fit with the Infinity pins of your OEM deck. I've never seen adaptors interconnecting these different plugs anywhere and I don't think they even exist, since the order of the signal in each little pin probably isn't in the same order on every wire.

Hope I answered you  properly!

Ehhhh... yes, but you'd have to figure out the wiring on the factory changer versus what the head wants. I don't have the pinouts, and so far haven't found them on the web anyplace. A good stereo shop should be able to give you a good steer, though.

I suppose I would have to get a pigtail DIN cable. Figure what pins do what. Then figure what the aftermarket headunit CD changer control wiring is and adapt the two. Pretty tough without a published wiring diagrams (both for the Mitsubishi and the aftermarket stereo). Oh well....
I wonder if the 3g Eclipse's 6 disc in dash changer works in a 2g setup?

It's not a plug-in, but it's all 12-volt and speaker connections, I don't know what would be impossible about it. Check out eBay, there's scads of Subaru 6-CD dash changers showing up there, brand new for $150 or so.:thumb:
