My Infinity stereo in my 1998 GSX has been intermittently losing FM reception. Not completely out, just the more distant stations. But when the reception comes in, it comes in great - sot of like someone pushing the mono/stereo button on some receivers to "stereo." No it's not external interference. The reception will cut out just sitting in the driveway. I checked both the power antenna connection and window antenna connection. They seem to be intact (does anyone know where the window antenna hooks into the headunit?). Is my headunit crapping out? Anybody have any ideas?

There should be a "double-barrel" connector on the rear of your head unit, with one small plug and one normal-sized. You should also have a Y-connector that splits your antenna wire to the two of them. You might check your window antenna for continuity, in case you have a broken wire from scratch damage or the like.
