I just bought a 96 eclipse gst with 94,000 miles. The motor is in great condition never been modified. The only problem is that I cant order a harness cause some idiot cut the other end off and all I got is wires to work with, and the infinity amp is still under the passenger sit . Anybody got an idea of what i should do? thanks I would appreciate any help

i take it ur talking about the stereo system.....

well, someone broke into my buddy's car and stole everything outta it. he never fixed anything, and then i bought the car. well it was a nightmare. what didnt make sense is that the theives cut the radio harness, but unplugged the ant wire. WTF? why not just unplug the radio harness too?

well, this is what we had to do.... my buddy found the ramaining wires in a bundle, and luckily had a color coded diagram for the remaining wires........

Decide which stereo you want to put in -if you want to stay with stock- because there's about fove different flavors with and without the remote CD changer in the back of the car. At least with the Eclipse, you _should_ have the CD data cable already running to the rear hatch area. If you go to aftermarket, you won't use the factory amp, so you just unplug it- this will leave the front tweeters on the dash out of the basic setup.
To get started on the wiring, go here

and look at the first and 3rd pages under Mitsubishi. You might want to hit up a junkyard for the connector, then do some soldering.
If you stick with a stock stereo, eBay always has them, and for not much money. And the system sounds good, if not great.

Hey, thanks alot guys, well I've already got a digital alpine amp and two twelves (alpine type R's) all I need is an aftermarket headunit and I'm probably gonna buy an alpine. Man, that is ####ed up about them cutting the radio harness but unplugging the ant. again thanks for the info!

well, the pic didnt show, but we had everything part just to put in that radio. it was a PITA. good luck with everything and post some pics when u get everything done :thumb:
