I have a couple of problems with my trunk (1990 Eclipse GSX).

1. The trunk release thing in my car won't work. I pull it, nothing happens. What could cause this? How do I fix it?

2. Secondly, the trunk won't stay up. The holder things are blown I think, where can I find a replacement/how can I fix it w/o paying alot?

Thanks :)

the latch thing sounds like it could be a cable or something....

as for the trunk shocks, if u dont wanna spend money to just replace it, u can always use somethinglike a cut off broom handle or something to hold it up....but my suggestion would be to make a venture to ur local parts store to get them. they shouldnt be too much.

Trunk struts are at the parts shops, same as MachV, about $30 each. In the meantime, get one of those strong plastic wood clamps and use it to hold the roof for you, just put it on the strut rod when it's up.
The hatch release might be a cable issue, do you get any resistance to the lever when you lift on it, or is it just loose? Check both ends of the cable to see if it's come adrift.
