I have been running the Raybrig bulbs for over a year, and they are finally starting to dim. It has been raining here a lot, and I have come to a conclusion that there is no bulb better than stock when it comes to clear viewing at night, in fog, or in the rain.

I would like some people's opinions on the clearest and brightest, non blue crap, bulbs to use out there. I am open to try new things, but they need to show the road better than the stock bulbs.

Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
Nathan

I've not found any of the "hot" bulbs worth it, but I've not tried spending $50 on a damned bulb, either.

Do you have the Sylvannias? Are they really that much better than stock?

Have you tried this mod on your talon? Will the 9005's fit into our 9004 low beams?

Thanks,
Nathan

I have the Silvania SilverStars, they are really high quality and they really brighten up the road for me, alot better over stock i think, and its not shity blue crap, it is real bright white light with only a little blue tint thats it, if you want high quality go with the SilverStar's, i have them just for the low beams 9006, stock high beams do just fine

I don't know your price range and budget, but if you need the best possible lighting available because you need really good nighttime driveablility than I would get a CATZ HID conversion kit. You can find them on ebay for around $350 or more. New from a dealer is cost $475 or more.

I know some guys who have HID Conversion kits and they live in areas where there are no street lights and lots of deer crossings and they HID kits have saved our lives.....;)

Also Ebay has some 5100K XD5 bulbs by Showoff that have Krypton gas and Xenon Gas in them and they are brighter than most bulbs out there with the bluish glow to them that are only 4100K or 4300K.

Showoff XD5 bulbs are made out of Quartz and are 80 watt low beam and 100 watt high beam. The Krypton and Xenon gas make them as bright as you can get bulbs right now. Cost $44.95 www.ebaymotors.com

Yup, and from Wal*Mart, no less. Bang-for-buck, I find them hard to beat.

You need to clip the nubs inside the plug on the bulb, trim the upper locator lug on the rim of the bulb, and slip the O ring from the old bulb over the base. Works fine, nothing irreversible to the car.:thumb:

Thanks for the details. I just didnt know that the 9005 actually give more light output than the 9004's.

Interesting, I think I will give that a try. Today possibly.

I may look into getting the Catz system too, as I am a reseller of Catz and can get them pretty cheap. Just dont know if I want to spend the money.

Nathan

:|Yeah I understand about coughing up the cash, but if you trully need the best in nighttime driveability...........I would definitely get it without hesitation. :dsm:

anyone on here tried modifying the 9005? does it really make that much more of a difference?

that's cool. i was just trying to figure out if it's actually worth going through the hassle

this is your best bet, projectors with hid convertion is the way to go, unless u wanna spend under 50 bucks id go with wagners, i have wagner 9005s in the foglights os my isuzu and i would never have to use my headlights. i dont remeber what the number on them is but they are like a lazer blue, they arent really blue but they will blind ya, i had to do the conversion to make my foglights take 9005s but i would think it would be the same for the headlights in an eclipse...

Very little hassle to it, unless we're speaking of someone who finds replacing something extremely simple such as an antenna mast to be an insurmountable challenge.

Ooops! My silly mouth!:D
